GreenSavers is a contractor focused on home energy efficiency in Portland and Central Oregon. For multiple years in a row, the US EPA and DOE selected GreenSavers from 1,4500 contractors across the country as ENERGY STAR® Contractor of the Year. Currently, we are looking for a Home Performance Consultant to join our team in Portland, OR. This is primarily an in-home sales position. We're looking for someone passionate about our mission of whole-home electrification who is responsible, responsive, and organized. You will use our data-driven, consultative approach to offer unique and effective solutions to address our client's comfort, efficiency, and home health and safety needs. In this role, you'll build relationships with our clients as you guide them from the initial home assessment through contract signing and payment.

Reports to: General Manager

Compensation: Base + Commission structure with a float to start. Annual compensation of $80k to $120k is expected in the first 2 years. On average, our consultants make $130,000 yearly, and top performers make $200,000+!

Work Hours: Flexible working hours, with 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday to start and optional 4-day work week, weekend, and evening work (including other options) for experienced consultants. Roughly 60% of in-office work to start, employee-directed for experienced consultants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license & insurable driving record
  • 3+ years of experience in sales or customer service
  • Prior outside sales experience is desired; a successful record of prior in-home sales experience is preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or further education is preferred
  • BPI certification is a plus
  • Can-do attitude - willing to step up to meet challenges and strive to continuously improve
  • Able to work as a team player as the sales team works together very closely
  • Familiarity with common operating systems, web browsers, and Excel-style spreadsheets is essential for success
  • Experience in construction, home maintenance, or energy optimization is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete estimates and home energy audits
  • Build rapport with clients while evaluating their motivation and budget
  • Assist with the collection and recording of data
  • Work with sales support staff to generate Home Performance Reports and Project Proposals
  • Work across departments to get projects signed, funded, and into the production pipeline
  • Consistently update CRM to track client and project progress
  • Respond to all clients promptly and professionally
  • Perform post-install quality assurance as needed
