Job Description

Construction Foreman/Equipment Operator

Duties:
30% Operates Heavy Equipment (trackhoe, bulldozers, dump trucks, front-end loader, skidsteer, backhoe, tractors, graters, mowers etc.)
20% Perform contractor tasks to include: painting, carpentry, masonry, and plumbing, fencing
15% Assist in the removal and installation of structures, levees, canals, docks, walkways, decks and other related tasks as assigned.
15% Supervise field staff and order materials for job completion
5% Completes daily activity report and other miscellaneous administrative paperwork.
5% Completes bi-weekly work schedule and weekly projected work schedules
5% Loads, unloads, and transports necessary equipment and supplies as needed; cleans and maintains tools and equipment; and maintains an orderly and safe work area.
3% Maintains and performs daily service to project pumps, engines and other small equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
2% Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience:
- Proven experience as a Foreman and Equipment Operator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Use and operation of various types of heavy equipment (i.e. trackhoe tractors, mowers, bulldozers, dump trucks, skidsteers etc.)
- Knowledge of levee maintenance; structure maintenance
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities to address issues as they arise
