We are a well-established Union Flooring company known for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Accountant with CPA certification to join our team. Position Summary:

The Construction Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations. This includes tracking project costs, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in the union labor construction industry, strong analytical skills, and be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a keen eye for details and positive results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze project financials, including budgets, forecasts and certified payroll.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costs.

• Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry standards.

• Collaborate with project managers, warehouse and logistics personnel to monitor and report on project budgets and costs

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Manage payroll processing for multiple unions, along with certified payroll when required.

• Assist in preparing for audits and financial reviews.

• Ensure compliance with all tax filings, financial regulations, and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• CPA certification.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Knowledge and experience with union construction accounting. We use Foundation Construction Accounting software, so experience with that platform is preferable.

• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and union labor, project-based accounting.

• Excellent attention to detailed organization and analytical skills.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to positively collaborate with a team.
