Location: South Los Angeles
Employment types: 1 Part-time and 1 Full-time
$23 an hour Part-Time Schedule: 3 days, 12hr shifts. 5pm-5am
Full-Time Schedule: 4 days, 12hr shifts. 5pm-5am
Job Summary: The Armed Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of residents, guests, and property within the Homeowners Association (HOA) community. This role involves patrolling the community on foot, responding to incidents, and enforcing community rules and regulations. The officer must maintain a professional presence and be prepared to respond to any security or safety concerns.
Key Responsibilities: - Foot Patrol: Regularly patrol assigned areas within the HOA to monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized persons, or potential safety hazards.
- Incident Response: Quickly respond to emergencies, alarms, or any security-related incidents. Provide assistance as needed and coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and guests. Provide information and assistance when requested and foster a sense of safety and security within the community.
- Rule Enforcement: Enforce HOA rules, regulations, and policies.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and any security concerns. Prepare detailed reports for the Security Manager or law enforcement agencies as required.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all security equipment, including firearms, radios, and protective gear, is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Professional Conduct: Always maintain a high level of professionalism, adhering to the ethical standards of the security profession and the HOA’s policies.
Qualifications: - Licensing: Must possess a valid guard card and maintain a valid armed security officer license as required by the state.
- Experience: Experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military service, etc.
- Training: Completion of a state-approved security training program, including firearms training and certification.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, and to respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with residents, guests, and law enforcement.
- Critical Thinking: Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to assess situations quickly, analyze risks, and take proper action to maintain security and safety.
- Ethical Conduct: High level of integrity and ethical conduct. Must adhere to professional standards of conduct and uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working in a residential community or HOA environment.
- Knowledge of local laws and HOA regulations.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- OC spray, Baton, Taser certifications
Working Conditions: - This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Officers may be required to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The role requires carrying and possibly using a firearm, so strict adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
