DESCRIPTION
Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes. Are you ready to create technical documentation that educates a technical audience and answers questions about product features for Amazon and our Customers? As a Technical Writer at Amazon, you will create content and improve existing content that benefits Amazon’s customers. In this role, you will learn to understand customers’ needs through collaboration and planning. You will work alongside senior leaders to test, verify, and adapt working scripts and procedures that demonstrate how to use technical products.
As a Technical writer, you will be responsible for having a strong written and verbal communication skills. You will utilize customer-centric writing, design, and research methodologies. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate project status to your manager and stake holders on a regular basis.

Key job responsibilities
As a technical writer intern, you will/may:
• Plan, create, test, maintain, and deliver documentation for technical audiences (e.g., concepts, scripts, sample code, technical procedures).
• Manage and deliver content for difficult technical projects as well as oversee all aspects of the process and workflow from writing through editing, technical review, build and publishing, successfully managing project’s lifecycle.
• Be a passionate advocate for your customer.
• Proactively increase customer satisfaction with the product.
A day in the life
Our internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students who are interested in a career in hardware engineering. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer. No matter the location of your internship, we give you the tools to own your internship and learn in a real-world setting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Technical Writing, Design, Human-Centered Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or other equivalent discipline, with an expected conferral date between October 2025 – December 2028.
• Ability to write high-quality technical content for technical audiences (e.g., engineers, developers, scientists).
• Experience writing content that is clear, well-organized, and grammatically correct.
• Provide at least two writing samples or projects, demonstrating past experience and deliverables of writing samples (website, link, reports, portfolio, etc.)
