We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, manuals, user guides, and digital content in a fully remote environment. The successful candidate will translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accurate documentation to support internal teams, clients, and end-users.
This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and edit technical documents including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base content
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, subject matter experts, and QA teams to gather technical information
Ensure technical documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to the target audience
Maintain version control and document management systems
Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in products, processes, or regulations
Create visual aids, diagrams, flowcharts, and info graphics to enhance understanding
Ensure compliance with corporate, legal, and industry documentation standards
Support the development and improvement of documentation templates and style guides
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in technical writing or technical documentation
Strong understanding of technical writing principles and documentation standards
Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Confluence, or similar platforms
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and productively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in software development, IT, engineering, or scientific industries
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and version control tools (e.g., Git)
Knowledge of API documentation, HTML, Markdown, or XML
Prior experience with UX writing or instructional design
Compensation:
Annual Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 USD, commensurate with experience, technical expertise, and geographic location
