Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and two (2) years professional experience in counseling, advising, or a related field. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for years of experience,
  • Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail,
  • Valid driver's license,
  • Successful completion of a background check, and
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public, and
    • Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching,
  • Experience using an enterprise-wide integrated student information systems such as Colleague,
  • Experience using an early alert system, such as CRM Advise.




Summary of Duties:
The student success coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students to increase student retention, success, and completion. The incumbent provides mentoring and coaching for students to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and professional goals. Under the supervision of the director of student success, the student success coach will conduct outreach to at-risk students, develop and implement success workshops and learning communities, and be a liaison to college and community resources for all students.







Location: Newark



Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.Some evenings and weekends required.
