Position Details: The Opportunity: This position supports the mission of the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine by overseeing the creation of events that focus on engagement, stewardship, donor and alumni relations, recognition, and fundraising. Events will be planned in alignment with the strategic plan goals of fostering storytelling, strengthening college community, and enhancing partnerships and outreach.
The role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and assessing both annual and special events aimed at increasing knowledge, awareness, interest, engagement, and commitment from key constituent groups through thoughtfully designed experiences that bring together faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners.
As a central point of contact for event planning and coordination college-wide, responsibilities include organizing communication efforts, administering college branded promotional items, managing external vendors, and collaborating with stakeholders across the university to facilitate digital, in-person, and hybrid events. The position also involves managing all event logistics, such as scheduling, timelines, budgeting, marketing, and forecasting.
Occasional travel, evening, and weekend work may be required. Some schedule flexibility is available and will be discussed with the finalist.
This is a
full time (100% FTE),
permanent position. This position is overtime
eligible. Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $5,397.56 | Commensurate with qualifications and experience --
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially with diverse colleagues, co-workers and constituents.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to keep accurate records and complete timely reports and proposals.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities.
- Familiarity with computer applications such as email, databases, and word processing programs.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, to travel.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications: - Higher education experience.
- Knowledge of or experience with Veterinary Medicine.
- Familiarity with alumni/donor database applications.
