Position Summary

The Statistical Data Analyst will join a dynamic and newly formed lab dedicated to advancing global population health through data-driven insights and innovative policy solutions. The lab focuses on producing actionable research to inform decision-making processes, with a specific emphasis on social and economic policies that impact mental health and non-communicable diseases. By leveraging cutting-edge analytical tools and methodologies, the lab aims to address complex health challenges on a global scale, contributing directly to improving global population health.


The Statistical Data Analyst will play a key role in collecting, organizing, managing, and analyzing quantitative data for population health science projects. Reporting to the Dr Salma Abdalla, the analyst will design and implement multinational surveys, conduct policy evaluation analyses (e.g., difference-in-difference analysis), write grants and manuscripts, run simulations, and create high-impact reports and presentations.


In this role, the analyst will collaborate on research initiatives centered on macrosocial forcesâ”including local, national, and global determinantsâ”that shape health outcomes worldwide. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the intersection of policy, data science, and global health equity.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Data review, management, and analysis; Obtains data from various sources (surveys, secondary data sources, interviews, focus groups, websites, publications and statistical data sets); Audits and cleans data as needed.
  • Runs descriptive, association (e.g. logistic regression), and causal inference statistics (e.g., DID) and performs additional statistical analysis as necessary.
  • Creates theme reports, graphs, tables and charts to depict results.
  • Contributes to dissemination products (e.g., reports, presentations, manuscripts).
  • Reviews journals and summarizes articles (literature reviews), and prepares bibliography citations for project reports and grant proposals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

$53,100.00 - $90,600.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
