Job Description

Cross Country Education is seeking a patient, dedicated, and skilled Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 behavioral support for students with special needs. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing individualized behavior plans, support the student’s academic and social-emotional growth, and collaborate with the educational team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

POSITION DETAILS:

• Role: Special Education Paraprofessional
• Location: Watsonville, CA 95076
• Age/Grades: PreK-8th
• Caseload: 1:1 or several students
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 6-7 hours daily with 30-minute unpaid break
• Duration: January through June 13th, 2025 (flexible for short-term coverage if needed)
• Compensation: based on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Behavioral Support

• Provide 1:1 or small group assistance to a student with behavioral challenges in a variety of educational settings.
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as designed by the special education team.
• Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage appropriate behavior and de-escalation techniques during challenging situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Associate's Degree OR passage of ParaPro Assessment
• Experience:
  • MUST have experience with students with behavioral needs
  • Preference to Autism experience
  • Preference to candidates with CPI training
