About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SOC Technical Writer to join our team and support the Office of the Chief Information Officer within the Security Operations Center (SOC). In this role, you will play a vital part in creating, standardizing, and enhancing various technical documents and processes that are crucial for incident responders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Support: Develop and standardize essential documents, including the Computer Security Incident Response Plan (CSIRP), SOC Incident Playbooks, and Incident Reports.
- Collaboration: Create RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) grids for each playbook and provide website guidance for workforce members on reporting security incidents to the SOC.
- Performance Measurement: Assist in defining and measuring SOC Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs), Memorandum of Agreement (MOAs), and other formal documentation to support the SOC. Integrate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop status reports for stakeholders.
- Business Analysis: Conduct business and process analysis, project coordination, and develop business cases and impact statements. Incorporate security prioritization metrics to inform business decisions.
- Task Tracking: Track information security functions, estimate resources, and develop priority schedules. Coordinate with service suppliers to ensure clear deliverables and priority identification.
- Process Improvement: Analyze business processes and organizational structures to identify challenges and propose effective solutions. Elicit and document requirements from stakeholders and create functional specifications as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through; ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience working with diverse audiences and translating technical information into clear, non-technical language.
- Excellent writing and composition skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly in writing.
- Familiarity with project management, conflict resolution, and incident escalation is preferred.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with customers to address business challenges while upholding confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Ability to navigate complex situations requiring analytical thought and develop appropriate solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with effective oral and written communication, capable of handling multiple tasks with professionalism and courtesy.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
