Job Description

Position Summary:  This job is on-site at Quantico. The ideal candidate will reside in the Greater DMV Area.   The Senior Web Developer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's public-facing website and internal knowledge center. This role requires a strong understanding of web development principles, including front-end and back-end technologies, as well as a keen eye for design and user experience. The ideal candidate will be a creative and results-oriented individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Website Management and Maintenance:
    • Ensure website accuracy and currency by regularly reviewing pages for outdated information, broken links, and technical issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve website-related problems promptly and efficiently.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve website performance, user experience, and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Content Creation and Management:
    • Develop high-quality website content, including graphics and written materials, that adhere to industry standards, brand guidelines, and best practices in web accessibility.
    • Collaborate with program offices across the command to gather and curate accurate and engaging website content.
    • Coordinate content updates and ensure consistency across all website platforms.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Develop and maintain website functionality using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
    • Ensure website compliance with DoD regulations and Web Accessibility Solution 508 standards.
    • Stay abreast of the latest web development technologies and best practices.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage website projects effectively, including planning, execution, and delivery.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and manage timelines.
    • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including program managers, subject matter experts, and internal teams.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve shared goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development, including experience with front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with SEO and website analytics is a plus.
