Job Description:

The Salon Assistant will work closely with our experienced stylists and clients. Responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day salon operations, ensuring the salon is clean, and help to create a positive and efficient experience for both our stylists and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist clients as they arrive
  • Prepare salon stations and products for clients
  • Maintain a clean and organized salon environment
  • Assist stylists with services, including shampooing, blow-drying, and preparing for treatments
  • Ensure towels, capes and other supplies are stocked and available
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Handle client check-in's and check-out's
  • Maintain inventory and assist with product restocking

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a salon or customer service environment is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Duties

  • Assist stylists with various tasks, including preparing clients for services and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients warmly and ensuring their needs are met throughout their visit.
  • Help manage salon operations, including inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Utilize salon software for appointment scheduling, client records, and inventory tracking.
  • Support retail sales by promoting products to clients and assisting with transactions.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in hair styling, eyelash extensions, and barbering techniques to provide informed recommendations to clients.
  • Participate in mentoring opportunities for new staff members or interns, sharing knowledge of best practices in the salon environment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in salon software to streamline operations and enhance client interactions.
  • Strong understanding of retail math to assist with inventory management and sales reporting.
  • Experience or training in cosmetology, hair styling, eyelash extensions, or barbering is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and relationship building.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also taking initiative when necessary.

Pay: $10.00 - $14.16 per hour
