Job Description

Regional Controller Position**

We are seeking a Regional Controller to join our team, based out of our office in Providence, RI. This role will oversee a mix of select service and full-service hotels across the country, working in both centralized and decentralized environments. Remote or hybrid work options are available.

**Responsibilities:**

- Plan, direct, and manage the provision of accurate, timely, and objective financial data to support informed management decisions.
- Recommend and implement remedial actions as necessary.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Establish or recommend major economic objectives and policies for the hotels.
- Support Select Service General Managers and decentralized Controllers in achieving financial goals by preparing monthly and annual reports.
- Summarize and forecast hotel revenues, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Manage cash forecasts and banking activities for the hotels.
- Maintain positive relationships with the Ownership accounting team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

**Requirements:**

- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Controller, Area Controller, or Regional Controller.
- Preferred experience in the hotel industry.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with cash management on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
- Ability to maintain a clean balance sheet.
- Experience in acquisitions, including setting up banking, credit cards, working with payroll companies, and local tax authorities.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage and lead a small team of accounting personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills.
- Experience with ProfitSword and M3 is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to travel 10% - 25%.
