We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic educators who are ready to dismantle the educational barriers that students and families face and open up educational opportunities through tutoring.

Priority Tutor Position for Fall 2024
We are looking for 1-2 reading specialists with prior classroom teaching and/or intervention experience to join our instructor team. This role will be starting in September.

Position: Reading Specialist Instructor

This is an independent contractor position during daytime hours (8:30-3:30) working with up to 4 high school students in small groups in an in-person setting. This will take place at a high school in Camden, NJ.

Required Qualifications

High School Reading Specialist Instructor

• Availability 3 days per week during daytime hours, schedule to be determined
• Willingness to travel within Philadelphia, Camden or Woodbury NJ
• 2+ years experience doing interventions with high schoolers.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university 
• Understanding of student-centered and culturally responsive learning practices 
• Ability to complete federal PA and NJ state background checks and clearances
• A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students!

Preferred Qualifications 

High School Reading Specialist Instructor

• Wilson Certification
• Experience working with English Language Learners and students with an IEP

Instructor Responsibilities

• Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet students' needs
• Connect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals
• Communicate with TEACH office staff and parents/guardians to coordinate tutoring lessons and check-in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail
• Participate in professional development opportunities to improve tutoring practice and connect with inspiring educators from around the greater Philadelphia area
• Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation

Compensation 

The pay range is $50 - $70 per hour, negotiable based on experience and certification.
