They continue to focus on providing exceptional care while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
About You
You are a board-certified or board-eligible Adult Psychiatrist with a passion for patient care and a desire to teach and mentor the next generation of psychiatrists. You thrive in a setting that values independence and work-life balance, and you are excited about the opportunity to take on a leadership role in the near future. You are comfortable with outpatient settings, enjoy supervising residents, and are eager to be part of a team that combines clinical care with academic responsibilities. You hold or are eligible for a Tennessee medical license and are looking for a role that allows you to make a meaningful impact in both patient care and medical education.
What You'll Do
As the Assistant Program Director for the Adult Psychiatry Residency, you will:
Spend 80% of your time providing clinical care to patients, with 30-minute medication checks and 1-hour evaluations, allowing you to focus on quality care.
Dedicate 20% of your time to supervising 3rd and 4th-year residents, providing mentorship and guidance as they develop their skills.
Participate in academic activities, including teaching and research, with the flexibility to tailor your role to your strengths and interests.
Work closely with the Residency Director to eventually take over the leadership of the program, helping to shape the future of psychiatric education.
Enjoy a limited on-call schedule, approximately 5-6 calls per year, with support from a well-organized team.
