A mental health treatment center in the West Los Angeles/Santa Monica area is in search of a motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join their team. The facility provides innovative and effective mental health treatments. The PMHNP will play a crucial role in collaborating with the healthcare team to offer comprehensive mental health services, including initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up appointments, and administering various treatments such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), ketamine infusions, and intramuscular injections.
The ideal candidate should possess strong teamwork skills, excellent communication abilities, and a dedication to providing individualized care. Key responsibilities include overseeing medical care, diagnosing and creating treatment plans, maintaining detailed medical records, prescribing medication in compliance with state laws, and coordinating care with external providers. Additionally, the PMHNP will be responsible for patient discharge planning and documenting clinical information using electronic medical records (EMR) software.
Required skills include a deep understanding of medications, strong IV skills, effective written and oral communication, and the ability to work independently and adapt to emerging treatment modalities. The ideal candidate should hold a current, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner License, DEA Certificate, and be Board Certified.
