Summary

Seaton Children?s House Montessori is a Family Child Care Home located in Ladson, SC. We are seeking a nurturing, patient, enthusiastic addition to our team who is enthusiastic about the Montessori method. Our classroom is limited to five toddlers 18 months to 3 years of age, so we place great emphasis on personal, individualized instruction. 

Role is part-time with potential for additional hours. Ideal candidate available from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Duties

• Create a warm, welcoming environment for the toddlers
• Provide guidance and support to children
• Interact with parents and record children?s progress in daily notes
• Plan, prepare, and maintain units of study lessons and 'works' (mini-tasks)
• Sing along during Circle Time and maintain positive, welcoming energy throughout the day
• Maintain individual student records
• Potty train children depending on readiness level (in the Toddler classroom) and provide diaper changes
• Collaborate with co-teachers in classroom design, curriculum development, and materials exploration
• Observe and support outdoor play time, preparing materials as needed
• Prepare and serve meals from home and school provided snacks
• Prepare children for and support during naptime
• Maintain a clean, sanitary environment throughout the day
• Clean and sterilize eating and working surfaces
• Attend staff meetings as requested
• Participate in continued education for staff including trainings mandated by state

Requirements

All SCH Montessori employees must maintain the standard that children are inherently deserving of respect, patience, and kindness. All employees must adhere to a conscious positive discipline methodology with absolutely no use of corporal punishment or ?time-outs?. 

• Complete all training hours requirements by regulatory bodies including but not limited to the Department of Social Services, ABC Quality, Child Care Resource & Referral, etc.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a DSS-licensed child care facility
• Passing state and federal background checks

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Montessori methodology and/or certification
• Infant/Adult CPR and First Aid Training
