Position Overview
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating and delivering individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. In this remote role, you'll provide specialized instruction in an online environment, ensuring each student's needs are met with compassion and expertise. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in online teaching and strong proficiency in using educational technology.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver personalized instruction to students using virtual learning platforms
Create, implement, and maintain IEPs in alignment with federal and state guidelines
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure all students receive the appropriate accommodations and modifications
Track and maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements
Conduct virtual meetings with parents, team members, and other stakeholders to discuss student development
Provide expert guidance to parents and guardians on effective learning strategies for their children
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and virtual teaching tools

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid teaching license in North Carolina with a Special Education endorsement
At least 2 years of experience in a teaching role, preferably in a school setting
Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms and other educational technologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
Proven experience in creating and managing IEPs
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while also collaborating within a team environment
