Company Overview: Wasatch Peaks Ranch is developing and building a new private mountain resort community located in the Wasatch Mountains 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City. The development encompasses 12,000 acres including 3,000 acres of private ski terrain; a Tom Fazio-designed private golf course; and 460 private homes and homesites being developed under a multi-phase 10–15-year buildout. This multi-billion-dollar project will offer the most exclusive array of skiing, golf, and a variety of other amenities in a private club setting in the United States.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Responsible for nighttime access control at the Wasatch Peaks Ranch construction gate and general security functions inside the development and club property. Ensure those permitted to enter Wasatch Peaks Ranch comply with policy. Make timely written and oral reports, as required. Observes and enforces Wasatch Peaks Ranch safety rules and policies. All security agents must exhibit a calm and professional demeanor, and be able to interface with members with a hospitality mindset.
Primary responsibilities: - Maintains the security check point/construction gate at Wasatch Peaks Ranch (WPR).
- Opens/closes construction gate according to established working hours.
- Deals professionally and communicates appropriately with contractors, construction personnel, visitors, job site supervisors, WPR staff, WPR members and their guests, those conducting business with WPR and the public.
- Maintains strict access control of the gate, only allowing access to authorized persons.
- Ensures all construction, contract, and consulting related personnel have checked in via Safesite app before entering WPR property.
- Ensures all delivery and earth moving equipment pass through security check point efficiently and expeditiously.
- Maintains traffic control.
- Enforces no speeding or reckless driving on WPR property.
- Observes all persons entering and leaving WPR property and remains alert for theft, suspicious persons and/or vehicles.
- Provides direction as appropriate to visitors and/or the public.
- Monitors security camera system.
- Responds to emergency situations contacting chain of command and/or emergency services.
- Familiarity with emergency 911 notification procedures.
- Administers CPR and First Aid, if necessary.
- Notes any deficiencies in security measures.
- Maintains accurate log of activities and documents incidents, suspicious activity and policy violations.
- Conducts patrol activities in a WPR security vehicle.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Security.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
Previous experience as a first responder desirable.
Experience in private security or former law enforcement preferred.
Classification: Full-time/non- exempt
Licenses and Special Requirements: - Valid driver’s license.
- 21 years of age or older
- Certification in basic CPR, AED, and First Aid
Physical Demands and Work Environment: - Frequent exposure to hot, sunny, cold, snowy or rainy conditions.
- Working conditions are often slippery and wet.
- May work in nighttime conditions.
- Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular shift .
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties.
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Possess good decision-making skills for the security situation (to decide autonomously whether the circumstances present threat or no-threat, for example).
- Be able to take command and manage people and events if required in an emergency.
- Work well under pressure (with a clear head and calm approach).
WPR conducts annual background checks on all employees.
