Your Responsibilities:

• Will spearhead and manage a team of Writers with the intention of growing it into a self-sustaining initiative offering team management, development, and personal growth support 
• Apply your expertise in content writing, driving traffic, expanding coverage, improving article quality, and growing the website
• Liaise with the in house Valnet Resource Team regarding team progress, challenges, and needs 
• Attend daily Editorial Pitch meetings, providing pitch feedback while maintaining an editorial vision 
• Ensure Editors are adhering to ScreenRant’s publication guidelines
• Lead weekly staff meetings to communicate progress on traffic goals, sitewide initiatives, and updates 
• Lead weekly model meetings with Valnet supervisors to communicate staff bandwidth, traffic goals progress, and output initiatives 
• Create and implement a plan for sustained growth with solutions as needed 
• Audit the site to determine strengths and weaknesses
• Research and identify topics focused on driving traffic using Google Analytics and other data sources, finding ways to improve our current coverage 
• Source stories for the Writers and Editors, while maintaining and optimizing a robust catalog of music articles 
• Liaise with Talent Acquisition by identifying Editor candidates, conducting interviews where needed, and approve Written Samples 
• Stay up to date with training and onboarding
• Ensure your team of Writers and Editors are maintaining output targets and quality expectations, managing their internal development
• Create a positive and engaging team dynamic for music enthusiasts who want to grow with the team

Experience and Skills: 

• Past and current experience in Senior Editing roles (Managing Director, Deputy Editor, Editor In Chief) of a digital publication specializing in music content 
• Have an ambitious energy and drive to develop ScreenRant into a pillar of entertainment websites 
• An innate passion for all things music, and writing about it 
• Image editing, SEO, and Google Analytics 
• Experience managing a team of freelancers with a proven track record of growing that team while expanding coverage and driving traffic
