Job Title: Mechanical Technician III
Location: Midland, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 5/2 | On-call rotation | Potential OT at manager’s discretion
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled
Mechanical Technician III to support equipment and mechanical maintenance activities in the Midkiff/Central area. This role focuses on pumps, air compressors, and other critical field equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations. The position requires hands-on mechanical skills, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, and a strong commitment to teamwork and safety. Candidates local to the Midland/Odessa area are preferred due to on-call requirements.
Key Responsibilities - Estimate workloads and establish job completion timelines
- Assist mechanical engineers with planning and testing of components, machinery, and equipment
- Prepare proposals, job packs, and cost estimates as required
- Review job plans, identify safety risks, and ensure mitigation prior to work execution
- Execute maintenance activities as planned while maintaining adherence to safety protocols
- Record technical history using the Global Reliability Tool (GRT) and related documentation systems
- Provide feedback on job pack improvements and process efficiencies
- Request permits and escalate to Supervisor if not issued in a timely manner
- Actively use all safety tools and participate in job safety processes
- Support pump and air compressor maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities
Required Skills & Qualifications - Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical technician or related roles
- Discipline-appropriate certifications or equivalent professional experience
- Strong communication skills; ability to clearly describe field conditions and remediation steps
- Team-oriented, with willingness to assist across groups and functions
- Adaptable to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
