General Statement of Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Marketing & Events Assistant to support our marketing efforts and ensure the seamless execution of events and promotions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our digital presence, coordinating promotional activities, and ensuring a great guest experience. The Marking Assistant will work closely with the Marketing Manager to drive engagement through social media, assist in event coordination, and keep communication flowing between departments and guests. This role offers room for creativity and autonomy, allowing the candidate to bring fresh ideas to the table, measure their impact through data, and grow within the marketing team.

Specific Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management

Create and post engaging content on Facebook, ensuring a consistent voice and branding.

  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries, maintaining a positive and professional tone.
  • Develop a weekly content calendar for Facebook, planning themes, graphics, and copy.
  • Monitor trends and suggest new social media strategies to increase engagement.
  • Email Management & Marketing
  • Draft, design, and send weekly emails to our mailing list, focusing on upcoming promotions, events, and special offers.
  • Ensure email content is accurate, visually appealing, and aligns with brand messaging.
  • Event Coordination
  • Assist in the preparation, decoration, and execution of promotions and events, ensuring all logistical details are in place.
  • Communicate with vendors, internal teams, and sponsors as necessary to guarantee event success.
  • Be an active presence at all major events, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly and guests are having a great experience.
  • Engage with guests to foster a fun and welcoming environment, answering questions and encouraging participation in ongoing promotions.
  • Market Research & Reporting
  • Regularly research market trends and organize findings for discussions with the Marketing Manager.
  • Summarize research findings into clear reports, providing insights for future promotions.
  • Track progress on ongoing tasks, compile a report on social media performance, and highlight any challenges or roadblocks.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Creativity: Thinking outside the box for promotions, events, and social media content.
  • Graphic Design: Experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator to create visually appealing graphics.
  • Photography/Videography: Ability to capture event photos and videos for social media, enhancing engagement with authentic, on-the-ground content.
  • Content Creation: Skilled at creating engaging, original content that aligns with the brand voice and appeals to our audience.
  • Data-Driven Thinking: Ability to use performance metrics and insights to refine and improve future promotions and campaigns.

Personality & Public Interaction:

  • Outgoing and personable, able to engage with guests and staff in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and addressing crowds during events or promotions.
  • A proactive team player who’s willing to assist with promotional queries from both patrons and staff.
  • Passionate about ensuring guests have a great time, solving problems on the fly, and representing the casino with professionalism and charm.

Tools & Software Proficiency:

  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Soci, or Meta Business Suite).
  • Familiarity with email marketing tools.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data using tools like Google Analytics or social media insights.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be age 21.

· A High School diploma or equivalent

· Written and oral communications are required in the primary language used in the work area.

· Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

· Must qualify for a Gaming License.

· Must be able and willing to work any schedule, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Qualifications:

Requires standing, walking for long periods up to 4 hours at a time. Must be able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly. Requires bending, reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping and repetitive motions.

Preference Policy:

Preference will be given to qualified Susanville Indian Rancheria Tribal Members. Indian preference is granted in accordance with P.L. 93-638.
