SAIC is looking a Logistics Management Specialist to support the US Navy in Crane, IN .

NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring the candidate to be in office for meetings approximately 2-3 times a week. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Logistics Specialist will play a critical role in managing the government inventory and tagging process, overseeing inventory management, and ensuring the smooth movement of assets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing documentation workflow and configuration management duties, while possessing knowledge and experience in product drawings. This position requires a detailed-oriented professional with a strong understanding of government regulations and processes.

Government Inventory and Tagging Process:

  • Oversee the accurate tagging and tracking of government assets.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and guidelines for inventory control.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and integrity.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain an accurate inventory database, ensuring all assets are properly recorded.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies notification as necessary.
  • Implement inventory management best practices to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.

Asset Movements:

  • Coordinate and manage the movement of assets, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Ensure all asset transfers are documented and tracked accurately.
  • Work with shipping and receiving teams to facilitate smooth asset movements. 

Documentation Workflow and Configuration Management:

  • Develop and maintain documentation standards for all logistics processes.
  • Ensure all inventory-related documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Manage configuration control, ensuring all changes to assets are properly documented and approved.

Product Drawing Knowledge:

  • Interpret and understand product drawings to ensure accurate inventory and tagging.
  • Work with engineering teams to manage product lifecycle documentation.
  • Ensure all product changes are reflected in inventory management systems.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience in logistics, inventory management, or a related field, with specific experience in government inventory and tagging processes. Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with product drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of and experience with government regulations and compliance requirements related to inventory and asset management.
  • Interim secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
  • US Citizenship.
