Job Description

Climate LLC: Lead Data Engineer for St. Louis, MO to lead design & implementation of scalable architecture to store and process geospatial and remote sensing datasets; develop roadmaps for design of data pipelines & frameworks; write & implement testing frameworks for data and platform evaluation and model development; coordinate allocation of resources & prioritize projects to meet business goals; drive design & development of rapid prototypes for machine learning models; evaluate & recommend technologies and platforms for data processing, access and sharing; mentor junior team members; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders & vendors. Requires Master’s in C.S., I.T., Computer Engineering or a closely-related field & 6 yrs industry experience: developing scalable data pipelines, workflows & architectures; modeling data from RDBMS and/or data warehouses; working with relational databases, including Oracle, SQL and/or MySQL, non-relational databases, including NoSQL, and/or streaming technologies, including Spark; developing & maintaining data pipelines using structured and/or object-oriented programming languages, including Python, SQL, R, PySpark, Java and/or C; leading & mentoring team members on technical delivery of projects; using Linux, GCP, AWS and/or Azure; and identifying & communicating data-driven insights. Will also accept Bachelor’s in said fields & 8 yrs progressive, post-Bachelor’s stated experience.

Stated experience must also include 1 yr experience processing & creating analysis-ready data using remote sensing and geospatial datasets, including multi-spectral satellite imagery and/or derived layers such as Sentinel-2; developing models using remote sensing datasets and/or geospatial and/or weather data; and working on geospatial platforms such as GEE, IBM PAIRS, Astraeaa and/or Descarteslabs.
