Job Title: Landfill Gas Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Landfill Gas Technician to support multiple landfill sites in South Florida. The role involves performing various tasks to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of landfill gas systems. Responsibilities include pump maintenance, flare maintenance, well raising, pipe fusion, and reading methane gas levels with a gas meter. The Technician is also responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and will oversee project work as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct operation, maintenance, and inspection tasks for landfill gas systems.
+ Perform pump and flare maintenance.
+ Conduct well raising and pipe fusion tasks.
+ Read and record gas levels using a gas meter such as GEM500 or Envisions.
+ Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
+ Oversee and assist with project work.
+ Work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate landfill sites.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanical background with strong problem-solving abilities.
+ Experience with computer technologies including Outlook and Excel.
+ Ability to work in outdoor environments and handle physical demands.
+ Reliability and punctuality.
+ Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check as company truck is provided.
+ 0-1 years of experience as a landfill gas technician or pump technician preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ HDPE pipe fusion experience is a significant advantage.
+ Environmental experience related to landfill operations.
+ 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus but not required.
+ Ownership of steel toe boots, with potential for a boot voucher.
Work Environment
This position involves 100% onsite work across multiple landfills within a one-hour radius of Miami Gardens, FL. The role requires outdoor work on large landfill sites with multiple hills and slopes, servicing 400-500 wells/connection points. The company provides the best equipment and tools, as well as a company truck. Opportunities for career advancement into senior roles which will include an ESOP plan, and paid birthdays off are offered, along with 7 paid holidays and 80 hours of PTO after 6 months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami Gardens, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
