This role involves performing a variety of laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood banking, and urinalysis to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The Medical Lab Technician will operate and maintain laboratory analyzers, ensuring quality control and reporting results in a timely manner, while prioritizing STAT specimens. The position requires adherence to hospital policies and procedures, participation in competency-based testing, and efficient use of laboratory materials.

Responsibilities:
- Perform pre- and post-laboratory procedures using various analyzers.
- Ensure analyzer operation through quality control, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Maintain equipment inventories.
- Verify, report, and document critical values according to hospital policy.
- Report results in a timely manner, prioritizing STAT specimens.
- Participate in competency-based testing and assessment of others.
- Use reagents and laboratory materials efficiently.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Completion of MT or MLT program (Associate's degree or higher).
- ASCP certification or registry eligibility.
- Minimum of two years of experience in blood bank, chemistry, and hematology.
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification.
Special Considerations:
- Day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), Monday-Friday.
- 40-hour work week.
- Facility does not accept certain candidates (specific criteria not provided).
- BILH Coversheet required.
- Cannot have worked permanently or as a traveler for any Beth Israel facility within the past six months.
