Position Summary:
As an AI Software Developer , you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing an existing AI-driven chatbot application hosted on AWS. This role involves implementing new features, addressing bugs, strengthening security, ensuring accessibility compliance, and improving overall application performance. You'll contribute to a high-impact, visible initiative within, opportunities to work on multiple AI applications across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance chatbot functionality using AWS Bedrock, Amazon Kendra, and AWS Comprehend.
- Fix bugs and optimize chatbot performance and responsiveness.
- Address security vulnerabilities and ensure FedRAMP compliance.
- Refactor code and enforce best coding practices including automated code reviews.
- Improve accessibility to comply with ADA, WCAG, and industry standards.
- Implement real-time features using WebSockets.
- Enhance and refactor APIs using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and CDK.
- Improve chatbot front-end (React, TypeScript) for better UX.
- Strengthen authentication/authorization with Amazon Cognito.
- Optimize performance using CloudFront, DynamoDB, and caching strategies.
- Review and resolve findings from SAST tools.
- Collaborate with security and DevOps teams on secure software practices.
- Support additional AI applications within MassHealth as needed.
- Triage and respond to production issues and user feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on AWS.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js or TypeScript).
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, CloudFront, Kendra, Bedrock, Comprehend, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with WebSockets and real-time app development.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, secure coding, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience refactoring legacy code and improving code quality.
- Ability to implement and maintain automated code review tools.
- Strong understanding of WCAG and accessibility standards.
- Experience with AWS CDK and infrastructure as code.
- Agile development experience and strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to support AI applications and contribute to documentation quality.
