Job Description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Health Educator. This position exists to work with diverse agricultural workers and the communities in which they live, as well as collaborating with local public health (LPH) and employers across the state to coordinate engagement and partnership to reduce the impact of flu and other infectious disease on food system workers. A major priority of this work will be to coordinating with partners to enhance seasonal influenza vaccine efforts for U.S. livestock, dairy, and poultry workers.
The positions will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and are initially funded through 06/30/2025, with a strong chance of extension.
Pay Rate-
$40/hr working 40 hours a week

Location:  Could include teleworking from home in MN - Office located in Saint Paul, MN; or closest MDH District Office *Occasional vaccine events in Greater MN
Job Duties

• The individual will work directly with MDH subject matter experts and key stakeholders to plan and implement projects to vaccinate farmworkers, reduce the impact of infectious disease, including flu.
• Work and partners specifically with mobile health clinics
• Meet with partners to plan, promote, and support vaccination events across Minnesota.
• Help protect workers and provide healthcare referral as needed to federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) or other healthcare clinics and/or services as appropriate.
• Reduce barriers and increase uptake in a population that has lower vaccination rates than the general public.
• Reduce strain on rural health care from severe illness in the fall/winter season when other respiratory viruses are circulating.
• Build a network of key stakeholders to serve these key groups effectively.
• Attend vaccination/health events in Greater MN as needed, to help coordinate as well as develop relationships with partners

Qualifications:

• Spanish speaker with strong experience in community organizing and overall project management with a commitment and interest in community health education
