Founded in 1986, St. Charles Community College (SCC) is one of the best two-year colleges in the state of Missouri. SCC serves more than 10,000 students in St. Charles County, a northwestern county outside of St. Louis, MO. SCC"s main campus, located in Cottleville, houses 12 award-winning buildings known for innovative, contemporary 'educational village' design and spans over 256 acres. A satellite campus is in Dardenne Prairie and features state-of-the-art nursing, allied health programs, culinary studies, and various career-technical programs.
St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time faculty position in Multimedia and Interactive Business Technology. This position begins in Fall 2023. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. Responsibilities include teaching experience in classes on campus, online, and remotely and serve as a team member who collaboratively assesses student performance. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the department, division, and college-wide level initiatives in supporting student success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum of 15 credit-hour teaching load each semester; teach students in assigned classes in accordance with course descriptions and/or learning outcomes, the course syllabus, and institutional policies and procedures.
Develop course curriculum and instructional materials, individually or collaboratively.
Knowledge of and interest in working with student groups, e.g., Phi Beta Lambda.
Serve on departmental and/or college committees.
Understanding of the educational, cultural, and social needs of a diverse student population.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master"s degree or higher in related field is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary skills. Ability to
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe suite of applications.
Knowledge and understanding of Quality Matters standards, or willingness to learn these standards
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred candidates will have experience teaching at the college level.
Proficient with online instruction.
Demonstrate the ability to embrace the use of technology in teaching and maintain the highest possible standards in classroom instruction and assessment.
