Gary Job Corporation serves students ages 16-24 years old, by providing education and skills guiding the towards apprenticeship opportunities. 

Quaiifed applicants will have a RN or LVN license. 

Job Description

- Provides special instruction to students in compliance with school-system and program requirements, state and federal regulations. Implements an instructional, therapeutic and skill development program for differentiated learning levels.

- Conducts formal and informal assessments of all students.

- Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies to include the integration of activities, materials and equipment that align with the accommodations as set in the student's Individual Education Plan.

- Plans and supervises assignments for staff members assisting with students.

- Establishes and maintains appropriate, open lines of communication with all parties, to include but not limited to students, therapists, school district personnel, parents and co-workers. Attends all required meetings and trainings offered by program.

- Completes required documentation within timelines, including recording of grades and attendance.

- Abides by and demonstrates the company's Mission, Vision, and Values, through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis.

- Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and holds current state certification as Special Education Teacher in state providing the service.

- Minimum of one year experience working with children with disabilities.

- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred.

- Understand and have knowledge of the provided curriculum, Unique Learning.

- Able to co-teach and work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
