Job Description

Established grooming shop in Overland Park, KS is looking for dog groomers (full or part time) to join our team! Flexible schedule, but would prefer availability one weekend day. We stay very busy so your schedule will fill quickly. This is a commissioned position + tips.

Our ideal candidate is self-driven and wants to stay busy. Someone who engages well with customers. Passionate, gentle and patient with dogs. Mindful of safe grooming practices for both the dogs and themselves. Must be able to do 5 or more dogs per shift

Responsibilities

• Checking in clients to see condition of dog, get grooming instructions and set realistic expectations for the client based on the dogs condition, breed and temperament.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment for the dogs, themselves and their coworkers. Clean as you go and make sure your station is clean at the end of your shift.
• Light cleaning duties in the salon to make sure the salon is ready to go for the next shift.
• Thoroughly bathing and completing haircuts for each dog on your schedule.
• Communication with the reception staff regarding your schedule, notes for clients and when grooms are complete.
• Must be professional, responsible and respectful to both our clients and the rest of the staff
• Good communication with coworkers, management and clients.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a professional grooming salon.
