Job Description: Bodyshop Detailer, Buffer, Paint Prepper

We are seeking an experienced and meticulous bodyshop detailer, buffer, and paint prepper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, buffing the final product, and ensuring that vehicles leaving our bodyshop are in impeccable condition. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, knowledge of various automotive surfaces and finishes, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Preparation: Inspect vehicles to identify imperfections, repair defects, and ensure the surface is ready for painting. This includes cleaning, sanding, and applying appropriate primers to the surfaces that require painting.
• Masking: Apply tape, paper, and other materials to mask off areas that should not be painted, ensuring precise and accurate paint lines.
• Mixing Paints: Prepare paint products by accurately measuring and mixing the necessary quantities of paint, additives, and thinners to achieve desired color and consistency.
• Buffing and Polishing: Using appropriate tools and techniques, buff and polish painted surfaces to eliminate imperfections, scratches, and swirl marks.
• Surface Inspection: Inspect painted surfaces for quality, ensuring a seamless finish, uniform color, and texture. Make necessary touch-ups as required.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure proper storage and labeling of paints, tools, and equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on buffers, buffers pads, sanders, and other tools to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Attention to Detail: Pay close attention to the smallest details, ensuring all surfaces are flawless and to meet the highest standards of quality.
• Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with other members of the bodyshop team and communicate any issues or concerns related to the quality of work or materials.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bodyshop detailer, buffer, or paint prepper.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive surfaces, finishes, and painting techniques.
• Proficiency in using various automotive painting tools, including buffers, sanders, spray guns, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to accurately match colors and blend paints to ensure consistent results.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct imperfections.
• Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols in a bodyshop environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
