Location : Edison, NJ, 08818
Hours per Week : 36.00
Schedule : 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Every Other Weekend Required, Holidays as Needed, No On-Call.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) is responsible for evaluating patients, assisting physicians in patient care, and providing comprehensive nursing care tailored to the specific needs of critically ill patients. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement individualized care plans, perform therapeutic interventions, and ensure documentation aligns with care standards and clinical priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care based on individualized needs and medical diagnoses.
• Develop and coordinate personalized care plans for patients, adjusting as needed through ongoing assessments.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage the care of patients with complex cardiac and critical care needs.
• Advocate for and adopt evidence-based practice standards to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Provide patient-centered care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Document care and interventions following professional standards, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Float to other units within the hospital, including Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Step-Down units when required, ensuring flexibility and reliability.
• Care for COVID-19 patients when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of strong experience in Critical Care (CCU/ICU).
• Med/Surg background.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of complex cardiac care procedures (e.g., balloon pumps).

Education:

• ASN - Required.
• BSN - Preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License or multi-state compact license .
• BLS-AHA certification.
• ACLS-AHA certification.
• NIHSS certification (can be obtained after acceptance but prior to the start date).

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• CCRN certification.

Languages:

• English (Speak, Read, Write).

Schedule Notes:

• Must be available for every other weekend and holidays as required.
• Must be highly reliable and prioritize this schedule over other employment.
• Flexibility to float to any unit in the hospital, including Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Step-Down units, as needed.
