Job Description

CAD DESIGNER

Total Security Solutions is looking for a qualified CAD Designer to collaborate with sales, project managers, production, and the customer to design and engineer system drawings and plans for custom bullet proof barriers, glass components, and accessories. 

This is a full-time position in our Fowlerville, MI headquarters and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Job Description

• Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers to design and engineer drawings and plans for custom bullet proof barrier systems
• Generate Sales drawings as required
• Generate customer approval prints as required
• Generate fabrication cut lists as required
• Check drafting output of other Designers and Project Engineers
• Interpret architect’s drawings and specifications for integration into design and manufacturing of barrier products
• Work extensively with AutoCAD and Solidworks for design and manufacturing
• Support multiple project and client deadlines and deliverables
• Periodically participate in shop fabrication and site installation
• Handle field measurements at new and existing facilities

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from accredited college or university
• Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent
• Must be extremely organized and exhibit a high degree of attention to detail
• Additional hands-on production shop experience preferred
• Experience with acrylic, glazing, curtain wall systems, carpentry, and metal fabrication a plus
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and heavy workload
