Position Summary

The Assistant Director for Special Projects will collaborate with Executive Director for Strategy and Operations in executing long term and recurring projects. The Assistant Director will provide special data management and reporting services, allowing University Philanthropic Strategy Team (PST) staff the opportunity to focus on their primary job responsibilities. Finally, the Assistant Director for Special Projects will serve as a champion of culture, engagement, and recognition for the PST team.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Advancement Project

  • Manage Advancement Data project through project management, data collection, and reporting.
  • Communication with Advancement Senior Leadership, Advancement gift officers, and other university departments.

Undertake Special Projects as identified by the Vice Chancellor and Executive Director

  • Provide project management and support for special projects in support of PST mission, vision, and goals, including but not limited to serving as consistent and continuous resource for on-the-ground projects with the Senior Manager of Support Services.

Information/Documentation Gathering

  • Work with key ARCH staff to further develop and refine available dashboards and metrics tracking systems to meet the needs of the PST, including aggregate monthly reports.
  • Assist with the monitoring and updating of Objectives and Key Results for the PST.

Standardize and Codify Processes Across Advancement Programs

  • Work with the Executive Director and Senior Manager of Support Services to gather information on best practices, and to codify, document, and assist in distributing best practices and establish standardized processes for PST.

Champion Engagement, Recognition and Fun

  • Serve as project lead for team engagement, recognition and celebration, including but not limited to morale, appreciation events, news and information updates, and the PST online presence.
  • Serve as lead and key point person for Support Staff meetings and engagement.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
