We are seeking a compassionate and talentedArt/Music Therapistto provide interactive art therapy to residents with Alzheimers disease and dementia inour dedicatedReflections Memory Care Neighborhood. You must have the ability to stimulate and engage our residents usingmusic, drawing, painting and other disciplines of art, and present these tools in ways that are fun and therapeutically effective. We hold our residents in the highest regard, especially those facing difficult memory challenges, so we expect you to bring a genuinely tender and devoted touch to your work. We look for consummate professionals with a true desire, a calling even, to impact their lives in positive ways.Prior experience working in a senior population, or with those with Alzheimers disease and dementia is desired. Your role is essential to the care of residents who choose to call The Bristal home. The loving attention you bring to the art and music therapy services you provide is fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our memory care residents every day. Casual schedule includes one weekend day shift per week(Sun-Mon9:30am-5:30pm). The ideal candidate will have the following skills/qualifications: Experience in Art/Music Therapy Background in memory care working with those with Alzheimers disease and dementia Exceptional musical/artistic abilities, creativity, imagination and enthusiasm Maintaining a mature, patient, calm and respectful demeanor at all times is a must Ability to create a trusting, open, kindhearted atmosphere that encourages learningandparticipation A strong empathy with and commitment to helping improve the lives of seniors each day New Jersey locations:Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine,subject to legalaccommodations
