Job Description

About You
You are an experienced, hands-on creative passionate about branding and storytelling, with a versatile skill set spanning brand development, packaging, and campaign work. You’re adept at both leading and executing design projects, contributing your own ideas, and collaborating closely with a small team of creatives. You have experience directing photoshoots, creating compelling visual content for social media, and are great at presenting to clients. You see the potential in every project and bring a strategic, forward-thinking approach to design.

About the Role
As a working Art Director at Murmur, you’ll play a dual role as both a creative leader and active designer. You’ll lead the art direction of branding projects, and the extension of brand identities into brand worlds, illustration, visual web design, social media, motion, and more. In our close-knit team of senior creatives, you’ll collaborate with strategy, design, and web to ensure each project achieves the highest standards of creativity and strategic alignment. You’ll also engage directly with clients, presenting and discussing work, building strong relationships, and helping them build their brand. Reporting to our design director, you’ll also direct freelancers or contractors for specific projects as needed.

Job Duties

  • Direct and execute branding projects from concept through completion, delivering exceptional creative work.
  • Translate brand strategy into cohesive visual identities that extend across print, digital, and campaign work.
  • Lead the art direction for branding, packaging, photoshoots, websites, motion graphics, social media, tradeshow booths, and more.
  • Actively engage with clients to present work, understand their needs, and build lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, and web developers to bring brand visions to life across various touchpoints.
  • Work hands-on with design software to create assets that align with Murmur’s high standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an art directing role with strong skills in branding, packaging, and illustration.
  • High-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, as well as experience in (or willingness to learn) motion design and Figma
  • Hands-on experience in art directing photoshoots and creating visual assets.
  • Strong client presentation skills and ability to maintain good client relationships.
  • Background in campaign work, motion graphics, and/or social media is a plus

Salary Range

$75k - $95k
