Skills And Competencies - Solid understanding of computer programming: design, implementation, compilation, unit testing
- Solid understanding of data engineering and data pipelines.
- Proficient in R and in particular the tidyverse and shinny packages Proficient in SQL
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, Python and Git workflow, Power BI
- Positive and can-do attitude, pro-active and flexible
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented
- Knowledge of finance and economics will be an advantage
Education - Working towards a Masters of Science in Computer Science, Programming, Computational Science, Engineering, and similar fields
- Ability to work during program dates: June 2nd - August 8th 2025
Responsibilities - We are seeking a detailed-oriented, well organized summer intern to work with our team for the summer. As a summer intern at Moody’s, you will play a key role working closely with our analytics & modelling analysts and economists to write code that brings together Moody’s proprietary and external datasets to produce key strategy credit products.
- With your solid understanding of quantitative methods and coding skills, you will be contributing to our applications by working on our data models, data pipeline and visualizations.
About The Team/Program The Proprietary Data Analytics team produces strategic research to answer questions most relevant to credit markets. It relies heavily on both Moody’s proprietary data and external databases. Our economists and analytics & modelling analysts work closely with rating analysts at Moody’s to provide quantitative backing to rating decisions.
Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June - August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth. Throughout the internship, participants receive mentorship from Moody's professionals, gaining insights into diverse career paths and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the company. Networking events and workshops further enrich the experience, providing a platform for professional development and collaboration. As a Moody's intern, you will gain real-world experience, turn inputs into actions, and be integral part of the team.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring hourly rate for this position is $35/hr.
