We are looking for an organized and driven **Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper **to join our team. Our Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper will bring added value to our team by diligently completing a wide range of projects. We are looking for a multi-skilled professional who will ensure accurate processing and recording of transactions while applying standard accounting principles that ensure compliance. A successful Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper combines excellent work ethic, positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to be flexible to drive service excellence.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
· Classify transactions in QuickBooks and/or Excel spreadsheets with accurate detail and speed.
· Process aspects of accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll.
· Accept and classify transactions in QuickBooks Online on a daily/weekly basis.
· Process and pay monthly/quarterly tax payments.
· Process quarterly payroll reports.
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for clients.
· Understanding of financial statements.
· Assist in ad-hoc projects and requests.
**SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND ATTRIBUTES OF THE ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT**
· At least 3-5 years of Accounting Assistance/Bookkeeping experience.
· Must have worked in QuickBooks Online (1 year solid experience).
· Proactive, self-starter who has full capabilities to work independently.
· Ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
· Accuracy and attention to detail with strong organizational capabilities.
· Self-motivated and highly flexible, with a collaborative, team-oriented disposition.
· Exceptional interpersonal and customer service competence.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software applications. Technologically sound with quick adaptability and willingness to learn new software applications.
The position requires 10-20 hours per week depending on workload. Availability will be needed during business core hours, M-F, 9am-5pm EST. Although this is a part-time position, business growth can provide capacity for full-time hours for the right candidate. Position will report to Sr. Accountant.
