Global Banking and Markets provides a full range of credit, risk management and investment banking products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Our products include investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, corporate banking, institutional equity sales, trading and research, debt products, derivatives, foreign currencies and commodities. We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by Scotiabank.

The Capital Markets programs at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets are designed to introduce undergraduate and graduate students to the stimulating and dynamic environment of Debt Capital Markets, where companies raise money by utilizing the bank’s platform to issue bonds. The Debt Capital Markets LatAm team works with clients across Latin America offering a variety of products and services.

What will my responsibilities look like?

• Provide assistance to the Debt Capital Markets staff on the trade floor in the execution of their day-to-day functions
• Execute research projects that arise on an ad hoc basis
• Prepare client presentations and daily market commentary
• Provide exceptional client support
• Keep abreast of market information, economic releases, trends and factors that affect market movement.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if:

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree or are completing a graduate degree to be completed between December 2025 and August 2026 within Business, Science Technology, Engineering, Economics, or Math disciplines
• A proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
• An independent thinker and decision-maker who can contribute effectively to the team's success
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion to work in a client facing environment
• Ability to meet the challenges presented by a fast paced, constantly changing work environment
• Native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required while language skills in Portuguese is a plus
